I've been watching about 3 hours of olympic swimming as of 11:51 pm.
So happy for Phelps :) but I feel bad for Ryan Lochte. Honestly, did he really think he could beat Phelps? He should be happy with bronze.
TEAM USA for swimming and soccer!
(How is it that the GBR and GERMANY OF ALL COUNTRIES didn't make Olympics, but US did? THAT'S CRAZY.)
Horrah for Parkhurst, possibly the best defender in existence.
PS. I get to see Beckham play in two weeks :) But I don't support LA. New England ftw.
They're playing the Pirates theme song for fencing. ahaha.

SUPER(easy)FUDGE!
Ok, I know this is really random, but I'd like to share with you an easy fudge recipe. Yes, fudge. Goes nicely with my theme of spontaneaity is not dead. I like to cook/bake btw. Anyway, 2 main ingredients: sweetened condensed mlk and chocolate chips.
1. 14 fluid ounces of sweetened condensed milk goes into a pot on medium heat
2. stir in 16 ounces of choc chips (16 oz = 2 cups)
3. keep stirring. keep going. stir until smooooth.
4. now get some kind of 8 x 8 baking dish about one inch deep and line it with wax/parchment paper.
5. pour the melted fudge in and refrigerate until solid (aprox. 2 hours)
Cut and enjoy :) My mom always adds orange zest to the mix right before it goes in the dish and it's amazing. You can add some mint or even instant coffee powder into the mix, too.

books :)
Finally summer is here. I've got a load of books I want to read over again for pleasure/understanding. I have a mental list of books but I thought I would share.
- Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse: must be read again before BD release (Aug 2)
- His Dark Materials, Lyra's Oxford, Once Upon a Time in the North: must read with help from wikipedia & fansites to understand the meanings and themes
- Lord of the Rings: I have to read Fellowship for summer reading so I might as well read the series again
- Chronicles of Narnia: would like to see how Lewis' and Pullman's contrast
- The Good Earth, Into Thin Air, We Band of Angels: more summer reading
- The Host: must read just because I run a Twilight fansite. And because I live for sci-fi.
- A New Dawn (fanbook): I'll write a review and post it on the Bite Me blog as well as this one
- Mortal Instuments: I think that's what the series is called [EDIT: there called moral not mortal. close enough] .I heard they were worth reading.
That should keep me busy for 2 months. Any other good book I should read?

The Wombats
Ok here's my first read-worthy post about music. Comment.
I bought The Wombats CD A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation and I loveee it! The Wombats are from the UK and are pretty popular in Aussie. They remind me of The Arctic Monkeys because of the similar ecclectic instrumental sound and vocals. The lyrics are amazing too. The Wombats just have like a different bubbly mood about their music and its a nice change from the American alternative I usually listen to (All Time Low, We the Kings, Relient k, etc.)
Favorite songs from the album: Kill the Director, Moving to New York, School Uniforms, Backfire At the Disco, Let's Dance to Joy Division
